Annales Ryenses - Rydårbogen. The transmission and translation of medieval annals (working title)
The PhD project contributes to the discussion about intercultural networks in the transfer of texts and manuscripts in the Northern European Middle Ages. The text corpus consists of the four manuscripts of Annales Ryenses/Rydårbøger. The differences in content and form of the manuscripts will be investigated and new descriptions of the manuscripts will be prepared, as well as the relationships of dependence between the manuscripts will be clarified. In addition, the contexts of transmission and the reception of the annals at home and abroad will be examined. In addition to material philology, polysystem theory and cultural transfer are also taken into account.
